Photographed by 90 of the World’s Leading Photo-journalists, on one day – April 15, 1989. Neither the photographers nor the organizers realized what a fateful day this would be. On that morning, a prominent Chinese political figure would die, sparking a student revolt which would eventually result in countless deaths and threaten to throw the nation into turmoil. The nearly 200 colour and black and white pictures that follow were selected from more than 140,000 images shot on April 15, 1989. None is 24 hours older or younger than any other.
